DoorMe Terms of Service
Effective date: October 17, 2026
DoorMe is operated by LaVilla Holdings LLC d/b/a DoorMe ("DoorMe," "we," "us"). These Terms govern your use of the DoorMe mobile applications, the guest web application at stay.doorme.app, and the website at doorme.app (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What DoorMe does
DoorMe lets hosts of short-term rentals and other properties record short videos explaining how things in a property work, organize them by room and appliance, and share them with guests and staff through a QR code or link. Guests view those videos without creating an account.
2. Who may use the Service
Hosts. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you create an account on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to bind it, and "you" includes that company.
Staff. Staff members sign in with an account created at a host's invitation, and these Terms apply to them as users of the Service.
Guests. Guests view property guides without an account. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of your country or the United States.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us at support@doorme.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may delete your account at any time from within the DoorMe host application. Deleting your account removes your properties and videos from the Service. See the Privacy Policy for how long residual data persists.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and plans
4.1 Plans and listing allowances
DoorMe subscriptions are sold by listing allowance. Each plan permits a maximum number of published properties:
| Plan | Published properties |
|---|---|
| Solo | 1 |
| Small | 4 |
| Growing | 7 |
| Portfolio | 12 |
Hosts requiring more than 12 published properties may contact us at support@doorme.app for an invoiced plan.
Current prices are shown in the application and on doorme.app before purchase. Prices may differ between the app stores and our website.
4.2 How you are billed
Purchases made in the DoorMe app are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those purchases are governed by that store's terms. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. Management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through that store, not by DoorMe, and we cannot issue refunds for store purchases.
Purchases made on doorme.app are billed by Stripe. Those subscriptions may be cancelled by contacting support@doorme.app. If you ask for a refund within 14 days of the first charge for a subscription purchased on doorme.app, we will refund that charge in full. After that, you may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and payments are not refundable except where required by law.
4.3 Automatic renewal
All DoorMe subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. Monthly plans renew every month; annual plans renew every twelve months.
Your subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep access until then.
To cancel a subscription purchased in the app, use the subscription settings of the Apple App Store or Google Play. To cancel a subscription purchased on doorme.app, contact support@doorme.app.
4.4 Free trials and promotional offers
We may offer a free period or a promotional code. Unless stated otherwise, a free period converts to a paid subscription at the end of the free period at the then-current price, using the payment method on file with the relevant store or with Stripe. Cancel before the free period ends if you do not want to be charged. Promotional codes are single-use, non-transferable, have no cash value, and expire on the date stated when issued.
4.5 Changing plans
Moving to a plan with a larger listing allowance takes effect immediately, with the price adjusted by the applicable store. Moving to a plan with a smaller allowance takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
If the number of properties you have published falls below your plan's allowance, we may move you to the smaller matching plan at your next renewal, and we will notify you before that change takes effect.
4.6 Exceeding your allowance, and lapsed subscriptions
This section describes what happens to your published guides and affects your guests, so please read it.
If your subscription lapses, is cancelled, or if the number of properties you have published exceeds your plan's allowance, published guides for the affected properties will stop being available to guests after a grace period of fourteen (14) days. We will notify you before that happens.
During any period in which guides are unavailable, your account, videos, and property configuration remain intact, and access is restored when a qualifying subscription is active again.
While over your allowance, you may not publish additional properties.
5. Your content
5.1 You own it
You retain all ownership of the videos, images, text, property information, and other material you upload or create using the Service ("Your Content").
5.2 The licence you give us
You grant DoorMe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, encode, transcode, adapt, generate captions and translations from, and display Your Content, solely for the purposes of operating, providing, securing, and improving the Service and making Your Content available to the guests and staff you choose to share it with.
This licence lasts as long as Your Content is on the Service and ends when you delete it, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period and for any copies we must keep by law.
5.3 What you promise about Your Content
You represent and warrant that:
- You own Your Content or have all rights necessary to upload it and grant the licence above.
- You have permission from any identifiable person appearing or audible in Your Content.
- Your Content does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Your Content complies with Section 6.
6. Content rules
You may not upload, create, or share through the Service any content that:
- Depicts, includes, or is directed at a minor. No person under 18 may appear in, be audible in, or be the subject of any video uploaded to the Service.
- Discloses property access information. Do not include door codes, lock combinations, alarm codes, key locations, safe codes, or any other information that would allow entry to a property.
- Is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory.
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic.
- Depicts graphic violence or promotes self-harm.
- Infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Contains malware, or attempts to interfere with the Service.
- Records any person without their knowledge and consent where consent is required by law.
We may remove content that violates these rules and may suspend or terminate accounts that do so.
7. Reporting content
Any guest or host may report a video through the report control in the application, or by emailing support@doorme.app. Reports are reviewed and we respond to them promptly. We may remove reported content, suspend the account responsible, and take any other action we consider appropriate, including where required by law.
To report content you believe infringes your copyright, send a notice including: identification of the work, identification of the material and where it appears, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your signature. Send it to support@doorme.app.
8. Guests and staff
Guests view property guides without creating an account and without providing a name or email address.
Hosts are responsible for the accuracy and safety of the instructions in their videos. Guests should use their own judgment, and should not attempt anything they are not comfortable doing. Nothing in a DoorMe video is professional advice about the operation, repair, or safety of any equipment.
Captions and translations are generated automatically and are not verified by a person. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and the risk of error is greater in languages other than the language spoken in the video. Do not rely on a translated caption when operating gas, electrical, water, heating, locking, or any other equipment where a mistake could cause injury or damage. The original spoken audio is authoritative; where a translation and the original conflict, the original governs. If you do not understand an instruction, ask the host rather than proceeding.
DoorMe does not operate, inspect, maintain, or certify any property. DoorMe is a means by which a host shares information about their own property. Responsibility for the condition and safety of a property, its equipment, and everything that happens in it rests with the host and, where applicable, the property owner or manager — not with DoorMe. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DoorMe is not liable for any injury, illness, death, property damage, or other loss arising from the use of a property, the operation of equipment in it, the accuracy of any instruction, or any act or omission of a guest, host, or third party.
If you are viewing a guide for a property you are staying in or working at, the host of that property determines what content is shown to you, and search terms you enter are made available to that host in aggregate form as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the Service in violation of any law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, property guide, or system
- Enumerate, scrape, or attempt to guess property codes or URLs
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties other than your own guests and staff
- Use automated means to access the Service other than as we expressly permit
- Interfere with or place undue load on the Service
10. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and the DoorMe name, is owned by DoorMe and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding.
11. Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party providers including Apple, Google, Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe, and Resend. Your use of app-store purchasing is also governed by the relevant store's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use poses a risk to the Service or to others. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you why.
On termination, Sections 5.1, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 17 survive.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOORME DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be available. We are not responsible for the accuracy of instructions in host-created videos, or for the accuracy of automatically generated captions and translations, which are produced by automated systems and may contain errors.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOORME WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DoorMe and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice through the Service or by email before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and DoorMe agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and waive any objection to venue there.
18. Apple
If you obtained the DoorMe app from the Apple App Store, the following applies:
- These Terms are between you and DoorMe, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to the app.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
19. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and DoorMe about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
